From Spartanburg Beginnings to Global Leadership
Contec was founded in 1988 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. What began as a small distribution company quickly evolved into something greater. By 1990, we shifted into manufacturing, introducing cleanroom wipers that set the stage for decades of innovation. Soon after, our pioneering PROSAT® presaturated wipes became an industry standard—a clear sign of how Contec’s inventive spirit could transform contamination control.
Today, Contec serves industries worldwide, from pharmaceuticals and biotechnology to aerospace, healthcare, and microelectronics. Yet no matter how far our reach extends, our foundation remains here in Spartanburg. Over the past 37 years, we have expanded our local presence through multiple facilities, job creation, and investments in infrastructure.
