Contec, Inc. Acquires Building in Spartanburg Industrial Park

SPARTANBURG, SC — April 20, 2018 – Contec, Inc. CEO Jack McBride announces the purchase of a 362,774 square foot distribution center in Spartanburg County. Contec will utilize half of the building as a distribution center with the other half being leased to another local company that services BMW. Located in the Flatwood Industrial Park 9 miles from the company’s two manufacturing facilities, the building is convenient to both I-85 and I-26, as well as the SC inland port. The address property can be viewed on the Johnson Development Associates website.

With 38 dock bays and room for expansion, this building will house Shipping and Receiving operations and serve as storage for both raw materials and finished goods. The acquisition of this building will make room for additional manufacturing capacity in our Wingo Park facility.

“The distribution center will need to be built-out and customized for our purposes. We expect this to be completed at the end of Q3,” says Contec president Avi Lawrence. Contec continues to have positions available in manufacturing and warehousing. Currently, we have 10 open positions on 1st shift, 16 on 2nd, and 21 on 3rd. Interested persons should apply through MAU or Phillips Staffing.
